2023: Former Vice President Atiku’s team commences consultations
Former Vice President, Atiku on Wednesday commenced consultations in respect of his 2023 presidential ambition.
According to sources, Abubakar accompanied by some of his political allies visited emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmad Bamalli and Prof Ango Abdullahi Chairman Northern Elders Forum.
He was accompanied by the former governor of Adamawa, Mr Boni Haruna; Sen. Abdul Ningi; Former Managing Director FERMA Engr. Jide Adeniyi and Coordinator Atiku Support Organization among others.
Ningi who introduced the dignitaries to the royal father told newsmen that the former vice president was in Zaria to condole the emirate council over the demise of the late emir Alhaji Shehu Idris and congratulate the emir over his appointment.
He said when the sad incident happened the Abubakar was not in the country and COVID-19 restrictions did not allow him to be in Zaria, hence the visit now that the COVID-19 situation had improved.
When he was asked wether the visit was part of the consultations for his 2023 Presidential ambition.
Ningi said the the former vice president has not started consultations.
“But some of us that are close to him; some of us that are dear to him and believe in him have started the consultations.
“As for him, he has not made up his mind yet, he is still looking at the variables; but we are trying to make sure that he listens to Nigerians so that he runs for the 2023 Presidential Election,” Ningi said.
Abubakar later visited the Chairman Northern Elders Forum, Prof Ango Abdullahi.
