25-year-old man drowns in open water in Kano
A 25-year-old man, Sani Alassan has drowned in an open water at Saye in Bichi Local Government Area of Kano State.
The Kano State Fire Service confirmed the incident in a statement signed and issued to newsmen on Sunday in Kano by the Public Relations Officer of fire service, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi Abdullahi.
“We received a distress call from Bichi fire station at about 1:35 p.m on Sunday afternoon from ASP Muhammad Zakarai.
“On receiving the information, we quickly sent our rescue team to the scene at about 2:15 p.m,” he said.
Abdullahi said that Alassan was, however, brought out of the water dead.
He added that his corpse had been handed over to his father by name Alassan Muhammad.
The PRO said the cause of the death was under investigation.
