Nicolas Puech, the 82-year-old heir to the Hermès wealth who is single and doesn’t have any children, wants to adopt his 51-year-old former gardener and handyman from a simple family in Morocco.

He would then be legally Puech’s heir, and he would be able to claim half of Puech’s reported11 billion dollars fortune.

The gardener will also get homes in Marrakesh, Morocco, and Montreux, Switzerland, worth a total of almost six million dollars.

Puech made this choice because he doesn’t get along with most of his family.

He wants to get out of an estate deal he made with the Isocrates Foundation, a charity he started in 2011.
