Agric Minister, Gov Muftfwang, to commission multi-billion naira fertilizer blending plant

The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Sen. Abubakar Kyari,  and Gov Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau, will be commissioning a multibillion naira firm, the Plateau Duncan Fertilizer Blending Plant, located in Heipang, Barkin Ladi LGA of Plateau State, on January 24.

This is contained in a statement issued by the Company, signed by Mainasara Illo, and obtained by Periscope International on Thursday.

It explained that the company was established in 2016 as a wholly owned subsidiary of the Duncan Group under the OCL (OIL AND CHEMICAL LIMITED), in partnership with the Plateau State Government, with fertilizer blending, distribution and supply as its core business.

Illo said that through the efforts of a skilled and dedicated team, the company was fast evolving into the biggest fertilizer blending plant in Nigeria’s entire Northcentral zone and one of the leading companies within the agro-allied chain in the country.

He explained that as a fertilizer blending facility in Plateau State with a wide distribution network, Plateau Duncan Fertilizer Limited was set to commence full operations and will continue to flourish in Nigeria as the “Plateau Pride.”

According to the statement, the company will provide an array of blended NPK fertilizer variants like NPK 15, 15, 15; NPK 20, 10, 10; NPK 12-12- 17, etc., as required by individuals or corporate customers.

“What sets the company apart and ahead of others is not the blending capacity of 120mtper hour with a capacity of over 550,000MTPA.

“It is the top range technology of our machinery amid the incomparable competence of the operatives to provide both the traditional NPK formulations of the NPK 20, 10, 10 ;15, 15, 15, as well as its customized formulae and carefully calibrated enrichment.”

It added that the firm’s flagship brand, DUNCAN FERTILIZER, was already the favorite of the farmer in Plateau State, would move into the other regions of North Central Nigeria and beyond, adding that it would also participate in the Federal Government’s Presidential fertilizer initiative, which provides fertilizers to farmers at a subsidized rate.

The Group said it recognized the role of a robust fertilizer regime for Nigeria’s re-emerging agricultural sector and was resolute in its intent to bring qualities of competence, dependability and prompt delivery.

It added that these characterized their success in the maritime industry and diversified into the fertilizer production and entire agricultural value chain.

Illo recalled that the company was also involved in logistics, maritime, and agro-allied and had remained fully committed to supporting Nigeria’s Agro Allied industry, with top quality products and services.
