The All Progressives Congress (APC) would collapse without its two most prominent figures, former President Muhammadu Buhari and President Bola Tinubu.

Sen. Abdul Ningi, a chieftain of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stated this in an interview with newsmen.

When we lost the election in 2015, a number of my friends came to my house and said, ‘Can’t you just join us in APC?

“I said No because our party is not owned by individuals; your party is owned by two individuals.

“If you remove Muhammadu Buhari and Bola Tinubu from APC, APC will collapse,” he said.

“We have shown to Nigerians that it doesn’t matter who you are, you can leave this party and this party will survive.

”Our former president left, we survived; the former vice president, Atiku, left, and we survived.

“Bukola Saraki, who was the former president of the Senate, left, and we survived.

“Aminu Tambuwal, who was a former speaker, left. Goodluck Jonathan refused to attend our meetings, and we survived,” Ningi further said.

These same individuals who advised me to join them in the APC are complaining about the ruling party.

“They are also complaining about the differences in the internal structures between APC and PDP.

“I had predicted these institutional differences,” he added.
