Martinez was named the best goalkeeper at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The 30-year-old played an important role in Argentina’s World Cup triumph, including a last gasp save, which could have swung the game in favour of France.

He equally made an excellent stop during penalty shootouts while his intimidating figure literally caused Aurelien Tchouameni to miss the target.

Since his heroics and subsequent World Cup win, Martinez has been the subject of controversy for a series of uncalled-for antics in the name of celebrating.

And he is back in England with his club Aston Villa, more than 15 days after winning the World Cup with Argentina.

The shot-stopper was on the bench as his side recorded a 2-0 away win at Tottenham on Sunday.

The Daily Star reports that the Golden Glove winner paid £20k for the specially-trained Belgian Malinois.

The dog can weigh up to 30kg and has been used by US Navy Seals and the SAS in combat.
