Atiku, Ayu, Tambuwal, others protest Tinubu’s victory at INEC headquarters

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Candidate in the February 25 presidential elections, Dr Iyorchia Ayu, the party’s National Chairman, and Governor Aminu Tambuwal, the Director-General of PDP’s presidential campaign, on Monday embarked on a peaceful protest at the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Abuja, to register their grievances on the outcome of the elections.

They are protesting the conduct of the presidential and National Assembly elections and the declaration of the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Sen Bola Tinubu, as President-elect.

The PDP stalwarts, who included some members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) and Board of Trustee (BoT), were dressed in black attire and rode in two open vans.

The protesters who moved together to INEC office, where they were to lay their grievances, started the protest from the party’s presidential campaign office, Legacy House, Maitama.

Periscope International recalls that the PDP and Labour Party, LP, which purportedly came second and third, respectively, in the presidential polls had earlier called for the cancellation of the elections and the conduct of a fresh one over alleged irregularities.

The opposition parties have also commenced legal proceedings with the view of reclaiming their alleged stolen mandates in court.
