The Commissioner said that from the preliminary reports which government received from security agencies, the students were kidnapped on Monday.

Aruwan said the exact location of the incident was yet to be ascertained, adding that detailed reports were being awaited to clarify whether the incident occurred within the school premises or elsewhere.

“Government will issue a public statement accordingly when these reports are received,” the commissioner added.

Periscope International recalls that in a similar incident on Sunday, bandits had abducted two female students of the Federal University, Gusau, Zamfara State, after they broke into a rented apartment in their Sabon Gida community.

The armed criminals who stormed Sabon Gida village in Bungudu, locked up two civilian guards in the rented female apartment, dispossessed them of their cellphones before abducting the two female students of microbiology department of the university.

Sabon Gida is a host community of the university and is located just a kilometre from the main campus of the university. Students usually rent houses in the community for accommodation.

Meanwhile, it was gathered that more security operatives have been deployed in the Sabon Gida community to protect the apartments rented by the students following the abduction.
