Breaking: Anambra Assembly Majority Leader dies in S/Africa

The Majority Leader of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Nnamdi Okafor, has slumped and died in a South African hotel.

Although details of his demise were sketchy as of the time of filing this report, a source in Johannesburg confirmed to Periscope International that the two-time lawmaker slumped in the early hours of Wednesday in a Hotel in Sandton City, Johannesburg, the South African capital, and was confirmed dead hours later.

It was gathered that the Anambra lawmakers are currently on holiday in South Africa.

The late Okafor, a United States of America trained pharmacist, who runs a pharmaceutical company, with diagnostic services. represents Awka South State constituency 1 in the state legislature.

“Yes, the Majority Leader of Anambra State House Of Assembly and Member representing Awka South Constituency 1, Hon. Nnamdi Okafor (Akajiugo Awka) collapsed in the early hours of today in a Hotel at Sandton City Johannesburg, South Africa and was confirmed dead hours later.

“Cause of his death is yet to be ascertained as of this time. May His Gentle Soul Rest In Peace, Amen,” the source stated.

The  Anambra State government and the leadership of the State Assembly have yet to officially confirm the tragic loss of the lawmaker.
