Armed bandits have abducted the paramount ruler of Jaba Chiefdom in Jaba Local Government Area in the southern part of Kaduna State, North Western Nigeria, HRH, Dr Jonathan Danladi Gyet Maude.
A family source confirmed to Periscope International that Maude, 83, a first class traditional ruler and the Kpop Ham of Jaba land, was abducted by the bandits while on his farm at Gitata town in neighbouring Nasarawa State at about 2pm.
The source said the kidnappers went away with the monarch alone without taking any of his aides along and said, “I don’t know how the abductors expect the old man to survive the long trekking into the forest in their custody.”
Confirming the incident, the Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige,told newsmen that the state police command was in touch with its neighboring Nasarawa State counterpart to rescue the monarch.
Meanwhile, the criminals have yet to make any contact with the traditional ruler’s family to demand for ransom.
