Nigerian musician, Davido, and his fiancee, Chioma Rowland, have lost their son, Ifeanyi, after he got drowned in his father’s residential swimming pool in Lagos on Monday.
The 3-year-old son of the musical sensation drowned at his dad’s Banana Island home. He was rushed to Evercare Hospital, Lekki, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Sources said that the couple had traveled to Ibadan on Monday for a family gathering and had left Ifeanyi with his minders.
It was gathered that the persons responsible for taking care of Ifeanyi at home could not give any cogent explanation on how the kid entered the pool and drowned without being noticed by them.
Periscope International learned that people who were at Davido’s House when the incident happened have all been arrested by the police over the tragic incident.
Davido who is devastated and inconsolable by the death of his son has relocated to his father’s house, where he is mourning.
Davido’s numerous industry friends and fans were at the hospital and later at his residence on Monday night to condole him over the tragic loss of Ifeanyi.
Others have taken to various social media handles and media platforms to commiserate with him.
Davido and Chioma were planning to officially get married soon after years of dating and separation before recently getting back together.
Chioma too could not be reached as of the time of filing this report. Not long ago, the couple had celebrated Ifeanyi’s third birthday together.
It would be recalled that the son of another Nigerian musician, D’Banj, also died in similar circumstances, drowning in his father’s residential swimming pool in Lagos.
