Gunmen have kidnapped Mr Daniel Ogoshi, the official driver of Nasarawa State Deputy Governor, Dr Emmanuel Akabe.
Reports say Ogoshi was whisked away from the residence of his friend around 9:30 pm at Ombi 2, college of Agric, Kwandere Road Lafia, leaving his phone and car behind.
Family sources said that the police were immediately alerted about the incident and they mobilized to the scene of the incident but discovered the kidnappers had fled with the victim.
Confirming the incident, Mr Ramhan Nansel, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP, and Police Public Relations Officer, Nasarawa Command, said the Command was on the trail of the kidnappers.
He added that the Command was still carrying out proper verification of the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Periscope International recalls that about a fortnight ago, a former Deputy Governor of the state, Onje Gye Wado was also kidnapped in Wamba village but was later freed
after an alleged N4 million ransom was paid to secure his freedom.
