BREAKING: Kebbi Assembly speaker impeached, new speaker sworn in
The speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Ismaila Abdulmummuni Kamba, and his deputy, Muhammadu Buhari Aliyu, have been impeached.
Periscopeinternational.com learned that 20 out of the 24 members of the assembly endorsed the impeachment.
A new speaker, Muhammad Abubakar Lolo, the member representing Bagudu West, has been elected and sworn.
Mohammad Usman Zuru, member representing Zuru constituency, has similarly been elected and sworn in as the deputy speaker.
No reason has been given for the change of baton in the state legislative arm of government.
A source familiar with the unfolding political development Howe told our correspondent that the former speaker had fallen out with Governor Atiku Bagudu.
