The candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Sen Ademola Adeleke, has emerged the winner of Saturday’s Osun State governorship election after flooring incumbent Governor Gboyega Oyetola in the election.
Although the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) returning officer had yet to officially announce the election results, the results monitored by Periscope International indicated that Adeleke won in 17 out of 30 LGAs, and defeated Oyetola with a margin of over 28,000 votes.
Whereas the PDP’s Adeleke polled a total of 403,369 votes, APC’s Oyetola cane second after scoring a total of 375,097 votes in the election, implying a margin of 28,272 votes.
