China’s cryptocurrency billionaire, Changpeng Zhao, becomes world’s 11th richest man
Changpeng Zhao, the founder of the cryptocurrency exchange, Binance, and shrewd crypto investor, is now the world’s 11th richest person following the increase in his networth to $96bn.
Zhao, 44, has also become Asia’s richest man, beating India’s Mukesh Ambani, who is valued at $93.9 billion to second in the continent.
The tech billionaire has also closed the gap between him and fellow tech billionaires like Google founders; Larry Page and Sergey Brin, as well as Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg.
Page, Zuckerberg and Brin net worths are currently $114.9 billion, $114.2 billion and $110.8 billion, respectively.
Zhao has investments in both Binance coin owned by his crypto exchange company and Bitcoin, the world’s biggest cryptocurrency.
Periscope International recalls that his country China had banned Binance cryptocurrency exchange company in a move to stop trading in cryptocurrency in the country.
This however does not seem to have any effect on the rise and rise of the relevance of cryptocurrency and the skyrocketing wealth of Zhao who was once quoted as saying that he doesn’t care about wealth.
