Dangote truck rams into family residence in Zaria, kills 3 siblings
Tragedy has struck in Zaria, Kaduna State, after a truck belonging to the Dangote Group of companies crashed into a residential apartment in Unguwar Juma, killing three siblings and inflicting serious injuries on their parents, who narrowly escaped the same fate.
According to an eyewitness and resident of the area, Alhaji Mansir Garba, the large truck collided with the home of Maiwada Abdullahi at night on Monday while the entire family was asleep.
The driver, suspected to be underage, seemed to have lost control of the vehicle while attempting to negotiate a bend.
The impact of the collision was severe, leading to the immediate death of the three children.
The young victims were identified as Hadiza Maiwada, aged 10, Usman Maiwada, aged 7, and Salaha Maiwada, aged 5.
Periscope International reports that the deceased siblings have been laid to rest in accordance with Islamic customs, while their parents have been taken to a medical facility for treatment.
As of the time of reporting this incident, efforts to reach the Kaduna State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Mohammed Jalige, for comments on the matter were unsuccessful as his mobile phone was switched off.
