Sen Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress,APC, and Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, who are the APC candidates in Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections, respectively, have both lost in the Shendam GRA Ward B of Women Affairs Minister, Mrs Pauline Tallen.
Our correspondent reports that Tinubu was floored by Mr Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, in the minister’s polling unit.
Tallen, who is a former deputy governor of Plateau State under Gov Jonah Jang was also the Minister of State, Science and Technology under former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
According to the results obtained from the votes cast in the polling unit, Tinubu scored a paltry 12 votes against Obi’s 168 votes.
Lalong, who is also the Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, was roundly defeated by the Peoples Democratic Party’s senatorial candidate, Air Vice Marshal Napoleon Bali, rtd., the son-in-law of former FCT Minister, Sen Jeremiah Useni.
Useni was Lalong’s opponent in the 2019 Plateau State governorship election and lost narrowly to the latter.
Lalong, who got just 42 votes, was roundly defeated by Bali, who scored 149 votes.
Also in the same polling unit, Lalong’s former Chief of Staff, Chief John Dafaan, was floored by PDP’s Isaac Kwallu, a former Chairman of Quaan-Pan Local Government Area, in the votes for House of Representatives seat for Shendam, Quaan-Pan, Mikang federal constituency.
