Election: U.S slams visa ban on INEC chairmen, Gov Wike, others
The United States (US) government has banned Prof Mahmood Yakubu, the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) alongside hundreds of others from getting its Visa following their alleged infamous role in the recently conducted general elections in Nigeria.
The Visa ban list, which also includes their wives, children, and relatives, will be submitted to the White House, US Congress, and State Department on Monday, April 3, 2023 for immediate action.
The list includes Gov Nyesom Wike of Rivers, former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, the spokesman of the president-elect, Bayo Onanuga, ex-aviation minister, Femi-Kayode, MC Oluomo, chairman of Lagos State Motor Park Management, who during the governorship election threatened the Igbo ethnic group in Lagos if they did not vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
