Ex-Gov Jang congratulates Rep-elect Kwallu, endorses him for future leadership
Former Governor of Plateau State, Sen Jonah Jang, has congratulated Mr Isaac Kwallu, the Rep-elect for Shendam, Quaan-Pan, Mikang Federal Constituency, on his victory in the February 25 National Assembly elections on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Jang, who is also a former Senator for Plateau North Senatorial Zone, said that Kwallu is naturally endowed with a “burning spear” of leadership, adding that he has the potentials to be elected into higher positions in the country in future.
Jang made this known when the incoming lawmaker of the Green Chamber paid him a courtesy visit at his residence in Jos and to present to him his Certificate of Return as the leader of his party.
He encouraged Kwallu to sustain the massive follower-ship, which he has so far garnered from the masses within his relatively short stint in politics, adding that God would continue to shield him from the hands of his enemies.
He said, “Congratulations to you on your well-deserved victory in the National Assembly elections.
“You’re a young man with a burning spear of leadership and the potentials to be elected into higher positions in this country.
“Just ensure that you sustain the massive follower-ship, which you have so far garnered from the masses within your relatively short stint in politics and may God continue to shield you from the hands of your enemies.”
Earlier, Kwallu told the elder statesman that he came to appreciate him for his support and present his Certificate of Return to him as a father and leader of the PDP in Plateau State.
He explained that returning Plateau State back to the PDP, was a task that must be accomplished during the March 18 Governorship and State Assembly polls, adding that this was achievable by God’s grace.
The Rep-elect also thanked Jang for the warm reception accorded him and his entourage during the visit.
Periscope International reports that Jang, a distinguished career military officer, is a retired Nigerian Air Force Air Commodore, who was the Military Governor of two states, Benue and the defunct Gongola, at different times.
After retirement, Jang joined politics and was elected Governor of Plateau State twice in 2007 and 2011, before proceeding to the Senate in 2015, all on the platform of PDP.
His eight-year tenure is reputed to be one of the best in the history of Plateau State, marked by a litany of cutting-edge developmental projects scattered across the entire nooks and crannies of the state.
