Gov Buni says APC will emerge united, stronger after National Convention
Gov. Mai Mala Buni of Yobe has assured that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will emerge united and stronger after the conduct of its February 26 National Convention.
Buni who is also the Chairman, Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee of the party gave the assurance when members of the Buhari Campaign Organisation (BCO) paid him a courtesy visit on Monday in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.
A statement issued in Damaturu by the governor’s Director-General, Press and Media Affairs, Alhaji Mamman Mohammed, Buni noted that the problems of the party were surmountable and did not constitute any threat to its perpetual existence.
He said, “A party as large as the APC with over 41 million membership is bound to have some differing opinions among stakeholders, but it is very surmountable.
“We are on top of the situation and we are optimistic of approaching the National convention and the 2023 general election with a united front.
“The BCO is a very strong organisation with a wide reach out; the party will work closely with you during the convention and general election,” Buni added.
Earlier, BCO’s Grand Patron, Sen. Abba Katsina, said the organization had contributed its quota to promote unity in the party.
“We are here to assure you of our total support to a successful convention and the 2023 general election,” Katsina said.
