Gov. Ganduje’s son flees to Egypt after reporting mother to EFCC
Abdulazeez Ganduje, first son of Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has fled to Egypt with his family after reporting his mother to the EFCC for alleged fraud.
The younger Ganduje had petitioned his mother,Hafsat Ganduje, to the EFCC for allegedly defrauding him of millions of Naira, following which the anti-fraud agency invited her for interrogation.
He claimed in the petition to the EFCC that he was approached by a property developer to help facilitate the acquisition of some plots of land in Kano with some hundreds of thousands of US dollars and at least 35 million Naira as “facilitation commission”.
He wrote, “But three months later, (the property developer) discovered that the plots of land he wanted and had paid the first family for had been allocated to other buyers and he then requested to be refunded.”
A source said that Mrs Ganduje has yet to honour the EFCC invitation, and risked being arrested by the EFCC.
Sources confirmed that the governor’s son has now fled to Egypt after filing the petition, perhaps to avoid the “wrath of his parents”.
Periscope International recalls that earlier in April, Jaafar Jaafar, the publisher of DailyNigerian, an online media outfit who, in a sting operation, had exposed the dollar bribery videos of Governor Ganduje a few years ago, fled to the UK after facing harassments.
