Gov Ganduje’s son loses Reps bid to Kwankwaso’s boy

Rep Tijjani Jobe, the candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), has defeated Umar Ganduje, the son of Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, in the House of representatives election held on Saturday.

The younger Ganduje had contested the Dawakin Tofa/Tofa/Rimingado Federal Constituency on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, against Jobe, who is the incumbent occupant of the seat.

According to the results declared by the Returning Officer, Jobe who is returning to the green chamber for the fifth time, polled 52, 456 votes against Ganduje’s 44,809 votes.

Periscope International reports that Jobe is a political ally of Rabiu Kwankwaso, the immediate past governor of Kano State, who Gov Ganduje served as his deputy, before they parted ways and became political sworn enemies.
