Former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon, Plateau State Gov, Caleb Mutfwang, former Speaker, House of Reps, Yakubu Dogara, former Minister of Information, Prof. Jerry Gana, former Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen, among many other dignitaries, on Saturday, graced the dedication ceremony of ECWA Gospel Church, Kulishin, Shongom Local Government Area Gombe State.
Speaking at the event, Gov Mutfwang emphasized the importance of selflessness and dedication in Christian service, and called for unity among believers in the North Central and the Middle Belt to bolster peaceful coexistence.
He lauded Hon. Jerry Damara for his significant role in the construction of the church, and urged others to follow suit in order to advance the Gospel of Christ.
Gen. Yakubu Gowon, on his part, expressed delight at the spiritual milestone achieved by Damara and family, and offered prayers for blessings upon the community and the nation’s Christian community.
Also speaking, Prof. Jerry Gana stressed the need for Christians to remain steadfast in the faith by utilizing the church for both spiritual and humanitarian endeavors.
ECWA President Rev. Dr. Stephen Panya, who performed the dedication of the church, urged the people to use it to serve both God and humanity.
Damara expressed gratitude to God for giving him the opportunity to contribute to the church’s construction, and then handed over its keys to the ECWA President.
Earlier, Gombe State Gov, Alhaji Muhammed Yahaya, had received in his office the delegation led by Gen. Gowon, which also included former Senate Minority Leader, Sen Simon Mwadkon, Plateau South Sen Napoleon Bali, among others.
