Gunmen kidnap ex-Nasarawa deputy governor
Prof Onje Gye-Wado, a former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, has been kidnapped by gunmen.
The spokesman of the Police Command in the state, DSP Ramhan Nansel, made this known in a statement issued on Friday in Lafia, the state capital.
He said that Gye-Wado was whisked away on Friday morning when the assailants broke into his Gwagi village residence of Wamba Local government area.
Nansel said that the police, in collaboration with other security personnel, had already deployed a tactical search team to rescue the victim.
According to the PPRO, the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Maiyaki Baba, has reassured that with the efforts already put in place, the victim will be rescued unhurt.
He added that the CP called on anyone with useful information that will aid the Police in their rescue operation to avail the security operatives of it.
