A statement issued in Abuja on Monday by CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, said the IGP condemned the alleged action of the police officer and described the incident as unfortunate and sad.

The IGP promised that the officer responsible for the ugly and unprofessional act, which doesn’t portray the Nigeria Police Standard Operating Procedure and core values would be prosecuted and face the wrath of the law if found culpable.

Baba commiserated with the family, friends, and colleagues of the deceased and prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased lawyer.

He further warned officers and men of the Force to be professional and people-oriented in the discharge of their duties and operate within the ambit of the law.

The IGP added that the Force’s leadership would not condone such inappropriate or unprofessional acts by policemen.
