IPOB: Security operatives hold joint operations to ensure peaceful elections in Southeast

In preparation for the forth coming 2023 General Elections, the military and other security agencies in the Southeast have assured that there is no room for criminalities in Abia State and it’s environs before, during and after elections.

The security operatives gave the assurance on Saturday during the Joint Show of Force in Umuahia,  Abai Sate Capital.

The top security who attended the event included the Commissioner of Police (CP), in Abia State, Mustapha Bala, and Commander 14  Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Adegoke Adetuyi,

In the words of the CP, “my advice to hoodlums is to relocate from Abia because the State will be too hot for them. Those who want to foment troubles during the elections should leave now because we won’t allow them in whatever manner. “

He added that “we are ready for the elections, and we have planned properly to ensure the security of lives and properties of residents.

The Commander 14 Brigade, Brigadier General Adegoke Adetuyi, warned the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra/Eastern Security Network(IPOB/ESN) agains their threat to prevent the conduct of the 2023 General Elections in the South East geopolitical zone.

He said that the groups’ threat and activities presented a real challenge that required aggressive posture through precursor operations in order to neutralize them in their hideouts.

General Adetuyi said 14 Brigade and other security agencies within the Area of Responsibility will support the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct the elections peacefully without hitches in the entire State.

He added that the show of force was carried out to dominate and be seen to dominate the entire Abia State.

The Commander disclosed that similar shows of force are simultaneously carried at Umunneochi, Aba and Ohafia Local Government Areas to build the populace confidence and to make the environment safe and secured before, during and after the 2023 General Elections.

The show of force was conducted by ranks of files of the Nigeria Police, officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army, Department of State Security Services, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Nigeria Immigration Services, Nigeria Correctional Service and Federal Road Safety Corps. The parade was hitch free.
