Israel-Hamas war: Israel resumes Gaza bombing as Hamas violates ceasefire
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) have resumed the bombardments of Gaza Strip after the Islamist terrorist group, Hamas, violated a temporary ceasefire agreement reached between the two warring parties.
The ceasefire, which was announced about a week ago, went on smoothly for about a week and ensured the exchange of hostages and prisoners on both sides.
However, IDF announced on Friday that Central Israel had suddenly come under intense rocket attacks from Hamas, which triggered immediate response by another wave of attack from Israel.
“Central Israel is under a heavy barrage of rockets from Gaza,” Israel Defense Forces said in a post on X.
The resumption of the hostilities has brought to an end the exchange of hostages.
Israel has promised to hit back at Hamas without any mercy, insisting that they don’t seem to care about peace.
The exchange of hostages and prisoners was seen as a gesture that would enable families of captives to see their loved ones who have been in Hamas custody for over a month.
