The abductors of the former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa state, Prof Onje Gye-Wado, have reached out to his family on phone and placed a N70 million ransom for his release.

A family member who preferred to remain anonymous disclosed that the family had already made an initial offer of N2 million ransom to the kidnappers for his release but the criminals rejected it.

He said the family pleaded with the outlaws that the public holiday would make it impossible for them to visit the bank to make any arrangements for additional money.

“From now till Monday, is public holiday, there is nowhere we can get money and we want him (Prof), back alive,” the source said.
