Kidnappers of Plateau paramount ruler demand N500m ransom
Unknown gunmen who abducted a paramount ruler in Plateau State, the Sum Pyem Gindiri, Charles Mato Dakat have contacted the palace and demanded a N500million ransom.
A source from the palace of the abducted traditional ruler said that the kidnappers contacted them through the cellphone of the kidnapped ruler.
He disclosed that the criminals claimed that they had no intention of harming him but were demanding for the sum of N500million for his release.
He said, “Yes, we were able to communicate with them. It was the Paramount ruler who first called and spoke to us.
“Thereafter, the abductors equally talked to us using the Paramount ruler’s telephone.
“They told us that the Paramount ruler was being treated well and was okay.
“His kidnappers assured us that they don’t have the intention of harming him but all they were demanding is the sum of N500million for his release.
“That is all I can tell you for now”.
Periscope International reports that Dakat was abducted by the kidnappers at his palace in the early hours of Sunday.
