Mammoth crowds of residents of various communities in Shendam Local Government Area of Plateau State on Monday besieged the entourage of Mr Isaac Kwallu, the popular candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for this year’s House of Representatives election during his interactive visit to the respective communities.
Our correspondent reports that the communities visited by Kwallu and his entourage during the interactive mission with the people included Kuka, Yamini, Npol Barracks and Angwan Saba, among others.
Our correspondent also reports that the people, comprising men and women, young and old, turned out en masse singing solidarity songs with shouts of “Divine Mandate” renting the air to receive the popular PDP Reps candidate in all the communities visited.
In all the communities he visited, Kwallu promised that, if elected, he would boost their agricultural activities through the provision of farming inputs, open up rural feeder roads, provide electricity, scholarships for their children’s education, as well as secure employment for the youth, among many others.
He also urged the people to unite and avoid divisive tendencies irrespective of their tribal and religious differences and promised that if elected he would heal old wounds and deliberately take steps to ensure the building of bridges of unity among them.
The numerous supporters who, it was learned, cut across political party divides, unanimously expressed their decision to vote for the youthful Kwallu because of his excellent track record as the Executive Chairman of Quaan-Pan LGA within a record period of just two years and also because of his unparalleled penchant for philanthropism.
The people unanimously passed votes of confidence on Kwallu and his Divine Mandate campaign slogan in all the communities visited and pledged to deliver their block votes to him by all means.
The residents also expressed utter disappointment with the government of the day at all levels, and promised to chase out of office all failed leaders, who were given the opportunity to leave indelible footprints, but have ended up making life a living hell for the poor and suffering masses.
The PDP Reps flag bearer’s entourage comprised of Francis Tunkuyo, Shendam LGA PDP Chairman; Hon. Noel Nkup, a former Deputy Chairman, Shendam LGA, who is the 2023 PDP House of Assembly candidate for Shendam Constituency; Hon. Cornelius Doeyok, the 2023 PDP House of Assembly candidate for Qua’an-Pan South Constituency; Mr Cyprian Tsenshuut, Kwallu’s Campaign Coordinator for Shendam LGA; among many others.
Kwallu is the immediate past Executive Chairman of Quaan-Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State.
He was illegally removed from office in 2020 through a glaring grand conspiracy that was orchestrated by the All Progressives Congress (APC) ruled government in Plateau State.
The action was later faulted by the High Court, which declared it null and void and ordered his reinstatement.
Kwallu later decamped from the ruling APC, on which platform he was elected chairman, to the opposition PDP.
He picked the PDP’s House of Reps primary election ticket for Shendam, Quaan-Pan, Mikang Federal Constituency, beating all his opponents by a landslide margin.
