Man allegedly strangles wife to death in Abuja
A man named Ezeagu John, has allegedly strangled his wife and mother of his 5 children to death in Abuja.
It was gathered that an autopsy report confirmed that John, a resident of Bwari in Abuja, strangled his wife, Ogechi, to death, in their matrimonial home, in what is suspected to be a case of domestic violence.
The deceased’s family from Obowo Local Government Area of Imo State has written a petition to the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, to take over the probe of the murder of their daughter.
The family claim in the petition that John murdered his wife, and went on to hide their children from them.
The deceased graduate of Optometry from the Imo State University, who hails from Umuariam Obowo, was said to have visited her family in Jos shortly before her alleged murder in Abuja.
Although following the family’s petition, the case is now before the Inspector General of Police, the force has yet to officially react to the incident or commence immediate action.
