Muslim-Muslim ticket: APC postpones unveiling of Shettima indefinitely
The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has postponed indefinitely the official unveiling of former Borno State Governor, Sen Kashim Shetima, as the running mate of Sen Bola Tinubu, the party’s presidential candidate for the 2023 general elections.
No reason was given for the decision which comes amid the raging controversy over the choice of Shettima, who is a Muslim like Tinubu, culminating in a Muslim-Muslim ticket by the party.
A senior official of the party, who preferred not to be named because he was not authorized to speak on the development, made this known in Abuja on Thursday.
He added that a new date would be announced in due course.
The party had earlier scheduled to unveil Shetima on Thursday to party members at the APC national Secretariat but the event failed to hold.
