Mutfwang inaugurates new cabinet, tasks appointees on diligence, transparency, accountability

Gov Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau on Tuesday inaugurated a reshuffled new-look cabinet with the injection of five new commissioners and reassigning of some portfolios.

Performing the inauguration ceremony at the New Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos, the state capital, the governor charged the appointees to ensure effective and efficient service delivery with diligence, transparency, and accountability as their watchwords.

According to him, the new government officials were carefully selected to drive his administration’s development agenda based on “The Time is Now” mantra.

He further charged the new appointees to embrace their roles with dedication, integrity, and an uncompromising commitment to service.

“This administration was birthed by the collective will of our citizens, and we remain resolute in our mission to rekindle trust, inspire confidence, and restore the loss glory of Plateau.

“Today, we welcome into the State Executive Council distinguished men and a women,  who were carefully selected from their respective local government areas based on their track records of excellence, integrity, and dedication to public service.

“Your appointment is not a privilege but a responsibility, a call to serve with diligence, transparency, and accountability,” he stressed.

The Governor also urged them to leverage their experiences and expertise to drive the administration’s vision and effectively implement government policies, to ensure the delivery of democratic dividends to the people.

“You are expected to pursue the vision of this administration with passion, efficiency, and an unwavering commitment to service.

“We remain focused on peace and security, infrastructural development, quality healthcare, education, and good governance.

“I urge you all to study our developmental blueprint and align your efforts with our set goals and priorities.

“Beyond executing existing policies, I encourage you to introduce innovative ideas that will accelerate the progress of our dear state,” he further said.

The Governor also inaugurated the Governing Councils of Plateau State University, Bokkos; Plateau State Polytechnic, Barkin-Ladi; and the College of Education, Gindiri.

He further announced the merger of secondary and tertiary education into a single ministry and the creation of a Ministry of Livestock Development,  Veterinary Services and Fisheries to ensure the efficient management of the livestock sector in the state.

Mutfwang also approved portfolios for members of the State Executive Council as follows:

1. Mr Philemon Daffi, Justice.

2. Mr Peter Gwom, Environment, Climate Change and Mineral Development.

3. Mr Adams Lekshak, Budget and Economic Planning.

4. Mr Musa Ashoms, Youth and Sports Development.

5. Mr Peter Gai, Lands, Survey and Town Planning.

6. Mr Jatau Gyang, Transport.

7. Mr Bugama Samson, Agriculture.

8. Mr Ephraim Usman, Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

9. Mr Joshua Ubandoma, Works.

10. Mrs Caroline Panglang, Women Affairs.

11. Mrs Grace Dongkum, Finance.

12. Dr. Kachollom Gang, Education.

13. Mr Salisu Nyalum, Commemce and Energy.

14. Dr Cletus Shurkur, Science and Technology.

15. Dr Sunday Akpa, Livestock  Development, Veterinary Services and Fisheries.

16. Mr Bashir Lawandi, Water Resources and Energy.

17. Mrs Joyce Ramnap, Information and Communication.

18. Arc. Sylvanus Dongtoe, Housing and Urban Development.

19. Dr Nicholas Ba’amlong, Health.

20. Mr Cornelius Doeyok, Tourism, Culture and Hospitality.
