Nasarawa Governor pledges support for Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone
The Nasarawa Government says it will provide enabling environment for the take-off of a Special Agro- Industrial Processing zone (SAPZ) in the state.
Gov. Abdullahi Sule announced this in Lafiya while receiving a report of the African Public-Private-Partnership for Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ).
Sule described the proposed zone as “important to human and societal development.”
He said that the take-off of the Zone would generate more Internally Generated Revenue for the state.
He commended the consultants for their detailed presentations and assured that his administration was determined to provide enabling environment for agro-Allied activities to thrive.
The governor further assured that his administration would explore such potentials for the overall development of the state and the country.
“The importance of agriculture to societal development cannot be overemphasised as my administration will continue to give top most priority to the sector for improved food security,” he said.
Earlier, the Lead Consultant of PPP, SAPZ, Mr Abbulkadir Oladapo, while presenting the fesibility study for the zone said that the state was endowed with sesame seeds, groundnut and maize.
Oladapo said that the zone when established, would generate revenue for the state.
