The Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) has commended the Executive Chairman, Benue State Internal Revenue Service (BIRS), Mrs Mimi Adzape-Orubibi over her digital innovations in internally generated revenue drive.
This is contained in a press statement signed by Mr Terhemba Suswam, Media Assistant to the Chairman and made available to Periscope International on Wednesday in Makurdi.
The Chairman was represented at the meeting by the Head of ICT, BIRS, Mr Raymond Gagaor.
According to the statement, the NGF commended the Benue tax boss during its 4th technical meeting for Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of 36 desk officers accross the country held in Abuja.
The forum commended the Tax boss for her innovations in Benue which has led to e-receipting, e-verification, e-reporting, e-TCC, e-payments, and seamless fund sweeping in the revenue administration of the state.
According to the statement, the NGF also commended the BIRS boss for the integration of TIN and TCC with the Joint Tax Board platform.
The statement further said that the NGF also during the meeting gave a standing ovation for the tax amazon shortly after her presentation at the meeting.
Speakers and other stakeholders at the meeting all called on other states to emulate what BIRS was doing.
It would be recalled that Mrs. Adzape-Orubibi was rated the best in transparency and accountability in revenue collections by the NGF in 2017 following the launch and use of POS for revenue collection in the State.
The BIRS Chairman has also automated all tax processes, procedures, administration and enforcement in line with the Joint Tax Board’s directive for the automation of all tax processes in the State by 2025.
