Osinbajo: Reports on my planned declaration for 2023 presidency fake, speculative

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has dismissed reports on his plan to declare his 2023 presidential bid after the Feb 26 All Progressives Congress (APC) national convention.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, made the clarification on his Twitter handle.

According to Akabde, any information on the presidential election would only come directly from the Vice President’s office.

“I have seen the news that the Vice President will soon announce presidential bid after the APC’s convention. Anyone reading the story will know it’s all false and speculative snippets.

“Any information on activities and actions of the Vice President will come directly from his office and not sponsored speculations in the press,” the VP’s spokesman tweeted.

Periscope International recalls that last week there were reports last that the Vice President would declare his 2023 presidential bid immediately after the APC national convention.

Osinbajo’s political godfather and National Leader of the APC, Chie Bola Tinubu had earlier declared his 2023 presidential ambition and many  have been waiting to see if Osinbajo would do same to set up a titanic clash between the godfather and godson.
