PDP’s defected Senator Stella Oduah says only ungrateful people criticize Buhari’s achievements in Southeast

Sen. Stella Oduah of Anambra North, who recently defected from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has said that any person who says president Muhammadu Buhari is not doing well in the Southeast is not fair to himself and the zone.

Oduah, who stated this at the weekend in Awka at the Anambra state APC secretariat, when she was formally received into the APC in the state, said that she decided to decamp from the PDP to APC to enable her do more for her constituency.

She explained that her decamping from PDP to APC was to enable her attract more dividends of democracy to her constituents, adding that as a member of the opposition party, she was unable to do much for the development of her people.

“It will amount to self-deceit for anyone to say that President Muhammadu Buhari and APC do not mean well for the Southeast region.

“I must commend President Buhari for the level of infrastructural developments his administration has executed in the Southeast.

“The record of the many infrastructural developments done in the Southeast by the APC federal government of Buhari are there for anyone to see,” she said.

Oduah said that with her joining the APC, she would henceforth be within the power circles where decisions are taken on the development of the country, and assured that the development would engender aggressive development in her senatorial zone.

She promised to deliver massive votes in her senatorial district during the forthcoming Nov. 6 Anambra state gubernatorial election to the APC, and, its candidate, Sen. Andy Uba.

Responding, Chief Basil Ejidike, Chairman of the APC in the state, praised Oduah’s political capacity and expressed optimism that her joining the party would be an added advantage to the party governorship contest.

Also speaking, Victor Ogene, a former House of Representatives member, Ogbaru federal constituency, described Sen. Oduah’s entry into APC as a boost to the party’s chances of victory in the governorship election.

It would be recalled that Pandora Papers, one of the biggest leaks of financial documents in the world, recently uncovered how Sen. Oduah secretly paid N5 billion to acquire seven mansions in London while she was Minister of Aviation during the Goodluck Jonathan presidency in Nigeria.

The EFCC had similarly indicted Oduah and a Chinese firm, CCECC, in alleged fraudulent cash transactions of about N5 billion in 2014 while she was the aviation minister

Oduah will be arraigned on an eight-count of conspiracy, money laundering and maintaining anonymous bank accounts before Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Tuesday.
