Plateau Gov-elect engages with FG to leverage state’s abundant solid mineral resources
Plateau Governor-elect, Caleb Mutfwang, has met with the Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Olamilekan Adegbite, at the ministry’s headquarters in Abuja.
The meeting was part of his engagements with critical stakeholders cutting across all works of life and professions, to lay a solid foundations for the efficient takeoff of the incoming administration on May 29.
Mutfwang explained to the minister that the purpose of his visit was to forge a budding relationship with the ministry, with a view to securing favorable terms for the State in the exploration and mining of its abundant resources.
According to the incoming Governor, his administration will focus on ensuring that Plateau people benefit from the natural resources which God has deposited in their lands.
He said the incoming government would be looking up to the Ministry for collaboration in diverse areas to ensure the objective is realized.
Mutfwang said that his government will provide better and safer environments for indigenous miners to thrive, using modern techniques, and the provision of competitive markets.
Responding, the minister on his part, said he was cognizant of the immense contributions of Plateau State to Nigeria’s solid mineral sector.
Adegbite said that the ministry was willing to assist in promoting the State’s mining potentials when the incoming administration comes on board on May 29.
