Plateau Gov-elect promises to prioritize development of Jos East

Plateau State Gov-elect, Mr Caleb Mutfwang, has promised to ensure that Jos East Local Government Area of the state is given top priority in terms of developmental opportunities during his tenure.

Mutfwang made the promise on Monday in Jos when he received a delegation of the people of the area under the aegis of Jos East Caucus, led by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mr Nuhu Abok, who paid him a solidarity visit.

While thanking the Speaker and his people for the visit, Mutfwang said that he was particularly impressed by the votes which the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) got from Jos East during the 2023 elections.

He said, “This is a local government which we lost in 2019 by over 11,000 votes but this time it was reduced to just about 2000 votes, we’ll win in subsequent elections.

“Last time you people fought and brought the APC government but you didn’t benefit from the government, but this time, I assure you we will right that wrong, Jos East will be integrated, we’ll include it in the master plan.

“Our government will prioritize rural development in the whole of Plateau State of which Jos East is not just an important part but a top priority.

“We will build a new partnership that will unite the people regardless of their differences and develop the State.”

Earlier, Speaker Abok told the Gov-elect that members of the Jos East caucus had come to identify with him through the solidarity visit following his God given mandate that was freely and fairly given to him by the people.

According to Abok, what God has put together, no man can put asunder, hence, the mandate given to him by the people of Plateau has come to stay.

The Speaker highlighted the efforts made by stakeholders and the entire people of Jos East during the governorship election towards ensuring the victory of the Gov-elect and introduced the members of the delegation to him one after the other.

“It is God that has given you both the wisdom and the victory, and he will not abandon you in your quest to give Plateau State the best.

“He will continue to give you wisdom and understanding like he did to King Solomon. I also want to let you know that Afizere people are with you.

“However, sir, our roads are bad, this is the message and prayers of Jos East as forwarded,” Abok added.

Periscope International reports that the Senator-elect, Plateau North Senatorial Zone, Simon Mwadkwon, was among top PDP stalwarts who accompanied the Speaker during the solidarity visit to the Gov-elect.
