The police have arrested a man, Dauda Ibrahim, in Idah, Kogi State, for allegedly conspiring with his friends to kidnap and kill his fifteen-years old daughter, Sherifah, for money rituals.
Sources familiar with the incident said that the suspect allegedly carried out the act in connivance with two of his friends, Adams Atumeyi and Adah King.
Periscope International gathered that the victim was kidnapped by her father’s accomplices on August 4, at her father’s residence in Okenya, Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area of the state.
The source said that the deceased daughter’s father hatchet the plot to abduct his daughter by first of all deliberately instigating a family misunderstanding which he capitalized on to chase his wife away so he could freely abduct the victim.
According to the source, no one would have known anything about the disappearance of the victim, but for her 6-year-old younger sister who was awake in the night of the incident and watched everything that transpired.
It was gathered that she said “Uncle Isah who uses a black jeep (Highlander) and Adah, came and took her away.”
The little girl also revealed that her father was awake when his accomplices came and took her sister away.
“The night that Sherifah was taken away, their father was wide awake watching his accomplices take his daughter away.
“The poor girl was crying and telling her father, “Daddy I don’t want to go with these people,” but the father said, “Go with them, I will join you later, but that was the end of the road for Sherifa, she never returned alive,” the source said.
Williams Ayah, a Superintendent of Police and the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident, adding that the victim’s father and his accomplices had been apprehended and were already in police custody.
