Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SGF Boss Mustapha, ex-SGF Babachir Lawal, ex-Reps Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, Adamawa North Senator, Elisha Abbo, are among prominent Northern APC Christians whose names have been excluded from the Presidential Campaign Council, PCC, list of the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, for the 2023 election.

The list, which was released by the PCC Secretary, Rep James Faleke, has 422 members who will serve in different categories with President Buhari  and Tinubu as chairman and vice chairman, respectively.

The PCC will be inaugurated on Monday in Abuja.

Babachir, Dogara and Abbo are among the northern Christian members of the APC who are vehemently openly opposed to the party’s Muslim-Muslim Tinubu/Shettima presidential ticket of the party.

Messrs Lawal, Dogara and Abbo had backed Tinubu in the early period of his presidential bid but parted ways with him after he opted for Kashim Shettima, a Muslim from the Northeast as his running mate.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) also opposed the same faith ticket.

Earlier in the week,  Dogara, during a Christian summit, condemned Tinubu for picking a Muslim as a running mate, stating that Christians must reject the ticket by ensuring its defeat.

On Thursday, Lawal also spoke against the ticket during an interview on Arise TV where, he disclosed that there was an ongoing coalition to defeat Tinubu and ensure that no one would dare to field a same faith presidential ticket again in the future.
