Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Oyewunmi, dies at 95
Oba Jimoh Oyewunmi, the 20th Soun Ogbomoso in Oyo State, is dead.
The 95-year-old traditional ruler is said to have joined his ancestors in the early hours of Sunday.
Mr Toyin Ajamu, Private Secretary to Oba Oyewunmi who confirmed his death said further announcements would be made by the appropriate quarters soon.
The late Oba Oyewunmi, was born on May 27, 1926 to the Gbagun ruling house, ascended the throne in 1973 and reigned for 48 years.
Oyewunmi was an accomplished businessman before he ascended the throne of his forefathers.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari, Oyo State Governor Makinde, among other prominent Nigerians, have mourned the deceased and condoled with the bereaved family.
