Teenager arraigned for allegedly kidnapping 9 children using magic ring

A 16-year-old boy, Lekan Mustapha, and his guardian, Zulum Yisa, have been arraigned before an Akure Magistrates’ Court for allegedly using a ring laced with magical powers to kidnap nine children from various parts of Ondo State

The first defendant, Mustapha, while testifying before the court on Friday said the stolen children were conveyed to an Islamic cleric in Lagos State.

He told the court that Yisa gave him the charmed ring, which they used to beat the victims to make them unconscious.

According to Mustapha, they usually trekked from Ilorin in Kwara State to steal children in Ondo.

Periscope International reports that the defendants were arrested last month by operatives of the Ondo Amotekun corps at Oka-Akoko area of Ondo State.

The Magistrate adjourned the case until March 28, for trial.
