Vigilantes kill 2 kidnappers while collecting ransom

Vigilante personnel in Sabongida town in Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State have killed two suspected kidnappers while collecting ransom.

According to sources in the area, the kidnappers identified as Sani and Musa had instructed the family of their victim, Alhaji Gambo, an aged man, to bring the ransom to a location.

The victim’s family were said to have contacted the vigilantes in the area who then went to the location to lay an ambush.

Unknown to the kidnappers who were said to be well armed, two of them were said to have been gunned down while bending down to pick the money while the victim was rescued and brought back home.

Multiple sources said that kidnappers had killed many people in Borno-Korokoro,Tella, Sabongida, Dananacha and surrounding villages and towns as well as the Jalingo–Wukari road in the state.

Taraba State Police Command spokesman, ASP Abdullahi Usman, confirmed the killing of the kidnappers but did not provide further details.
