Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho cancels Lagos rally following attack on his home, wife’s abduction

Sunday Adeyemo, aka Sunday Igboho, a Yoruba ethnic nationalist, has abruptly halted a mega rally scheduled for Lagos, on July 3, following an attack on his Ibadan residence by armed men at dawn on Thursday.

Reports say Igboho’s wife was abducted and seven persons in the apartment were killed during the attack by the assailants suspected to be government security operatives.

Igboho told the BBC that the rally will no longer hold following the attack and recent attempts to kill him.

Cars and furniture in the agitator’s attacked apartment were destroyed and vandalised. agitator’s attacked residence with blood stains littering everywhere.

An eyewitness said the armed assailants also arrested a huge cat in the apartment, based on the suspicion that Igboho had turned himself into a cat.

The ethnic activist has been agitating for the expulsion of Fulani herders from Yoruba land, following recurring spate of attacks on innocent people by the herders.
