Plateau State Gov Caleb Mutfwang, has said that the prayers of Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, and others, made him to win the governorship election and the hurdles of court cases to become and remain governor.

The Governor made this known during separate courtesy visits at the New Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos, by Pastor Adeboye, and the leadership of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) led by its President, Rev. Dr. Amos Mohzo, on Thursday, in Jos.

He said that their intercessory prayers had culminated in what he described as “the triumph of righteousness over darkness in Plateau State.”

Mutfwang solicited for their constant prayers for lasting peace, unity, and prosperity in Plateau and Nigeria.

The Governor said that he was greatly honored to host Pastor Adeboye, who was in Jos to reopen the Redeemed Christian Church Camp in Heipang which was earlier closed over security concerns.

Gov Mutfwang said the reopening of the camp was a clear indication that Plateau State was safe for investments.

“We are highly honoured to receive you in Plateau State today, on behalf of the government and people of Plateau State.

“We are glad that you have come back not only to speak to your Ministers but to pray for the state,” he said.

Pastor Adeboye, recalling his love for Plateau since 1965, pledged to continue praying for the state’s peace, unity, and prosperity.

Addressing the COCIN delegation, Mutfwang renewd his commitment to governance that glorifies God and benefits humanity.

He stated: “I came into politics because I believe that the Church can send somebody to provide good governance that would glorify the name of Jesus Christ.

“I have therefore made a vow that as we lead in government, we will do so in a manner that the Church will be proud that it stood behind us”.

He welcomed constructive counsel from the Church and called for continued prayers and support.

The COCIN President, lauded the Governor’s efforts in various sectors, including clearing of salary and pension arrears, resettling Internally Displaced Persons, and infrastructure development.

Special prayers were also offered for peace, unity, and prosperity in Plateau State.
