Zamfara Assembly Speaker’s father dies in kidnappers’ custody

Alh Abubakar Magarya, the father of Zamfara State House of Assembly Speaker has died while in captivity of bandits who kidnapped him eight weeks ago.

Maganya was kidnapped alongside his brother, wife and children.

They were rescued on Saturday but the speaker’s father was not among them, a family source said.

The source who is the elder brother of the deceased, Mallam Dahiru Magarya who was also among the kidnapped victims said the speaker’s dad died of heart attack.

 According to him, they were seperated by the leader of the bandits, Kachala who kidnapped them, adding that it was Kachala who informed them that the Speaker’s father had died.

The Zamfara State police commander was yet to officially speak on the development at the of filing this report.
