According to a statement on Tuesday by Mr Lawan’s media aide, Ezrel Tabiowo, the lawmaker explained in the letter that his defection was informed by the “collapse” of PDP.

“My decision is necessitated by the collapse of internal democracy and factionalisation of the party from ward levels in Zamfara State.

“Further decisions on political movement and party affiliations will be communicated to this chamber in due course,” the statement quoted the Senator as saying.
