The world’s largest ship called “Icon of the Seas,” is set to set sail on January 27, 2024.

It boasts a record-breaking six water slides, named Category 6. It furthermore, has seven pools and nine whirlpools.

According to Royal Caribbean, Icon of the Seas is 6 per cent bigger and 10 ft longer than the Wonder of the Seas, which is currently the biggest ship.

The Icon of The Seas is also 5 times bigger and heavier than its ancestor, the legendary Titanic, weighing 250,800 tons.

The Titanic, which weighed 50,210 tons, later sanked on 15 April 1912 in the North Atlantic Ocean, four days into her maiden voyage from Southampton, UK,  to New York City.

Investigators later said the ship sanked after it collided with iceberg, killing no fewer than 1496 people on board.

Less than one-third of those aboard the Titanic survived the disaster.

Meanwhile, thousands of people have booked tickets to be among the first passengers of the ‘Icon of the Seas.’

The first voyage will set out from Miami and the ship will be based there through at least April 2025, and embark on weeklong cruises to the Caribbean.
