The defendant, whose residential address was not given, was arraigned by the Lagos State Government for defilement.

He, however, pleaded not guilty.

Following his not guilty plea, the state counsel, Ms Bukola Okeowo, prayed the court to remand the defendant accordingly.

Okeowo had told the court that the prosecution intended to call three witnesses to prove the charge against the defendant.

She said that the defendant committed the offence sometime in March 2023 at no 16, Moshalasi Street, in the Ilasa area of Lagos.

According to her, the offence contravenes Section 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
